OUT OF TOWN MEETING - BUTTE 2008
September 5th - 7th 2008
The Ghost Town meeting in Butte was a huge success. 90 people attended. We had a wonderful time
and learned much about the early days of Butte's mining history. You can click on the Poster link
below to learn more about the activities. Some of the outstanding activities were touring the buildings
in two of the mines, standing with six other people in an elevator car meant to carry 7 people to various
levels of a mine, learning that there are 10,000 miles (yes miles) of tunnels below Butte, several of which
are more than a mile deep, visiting an underground barbershop with a hidden speakeasy with an escape
hatch in case the wife showed up, etc.
It was a marvelous time for all. Even the banquet was fun with a speaker telling us more about Butte and
the old mining days.
